Creating an Icon

To start off the tutorial I'm going to choose an anime image because they always turn out cool. I chose faye and kurogane. The image was a large one so I cropped it down to 100x100 so now it looks like this.

The next step we'll duplicate the layer and add a little texture to it, so we'll use the magic wand and highlight the background and then filter->texture->texturizer.

Next we'll be using some text I scanned from a magazine. Save it and paste it as a new layer and overlay it.

After that we'll add some writing to the icon. To make it seem mysterious we'll use the word Be Cautious. For the "be" I used the font Lucida Handwriting and for "Cautious" I used Elephant.

One last step to add a border then we'll be done. To add the border first change your colour to white then select the whole box then go edit->stroke->1px->Ok.
